You could suppose that my being a Wine
Goddess also implies that I am a wine snob and you would be right,
but not in the way you might think. I don't look down on people for
drinking certain varietals and I am not the least bit insistent
that wine must be expensive to be good. However, I am particular
about the quality of wine I consume and more than that, I am
particular about the quality of my wine drinking experience.
It's true, I am one of those people who think that wine should be savored slowly and never gulped
or, heaven forbid, chugged. I believe that
wine should be used to make us more aware of what is good in our lives
rather than just dulling the pain of what's not so good, that it can heighten our senses instead of numbing them.
You see, to me wine is something
sacred, even magical. It transforms an ordinary meal, event or
conversation into an extraordinary one by reminding us to take in the
wonder of every moment. I simply can't stand to see anyone ignore or
take for granted such a powerful gift.
So next time you have a glass of wine
do me a favor and treat it with the reverence it deserves. Take the
time to revel in the experience of every sip and remember that "To Wine Is Divine".
