I'm Dreaming Of A Wine Christmas


Whatever complaints you may have about any of us wine lovers the rest of the year, you have to admit that we are pretty easy to shop for when it comes to holiday gifts.  A bottle of one of our favorite wines will always be a winner and a gift card for our local wine shop will never fail to delight us.

Wine Notes


Some people think that just because I am a Wine Vixen that I should be some kind of expert on wine but I'm really not.  I may have picked up a few helpful hints by reading The Wine Women Daily but the only thing I really know for sure about wine is what I like.  Unfortunately, I sometimes manage to forget even that.

 So for 2014 my New Year's Resolution is going to be to write down my wine experiences so that by 2015 I will at least be more of an expert on my own tastes and preferences.  Lucky for me, Notebooks and Notepads at The Wine Women Designs Shop are on sale this month, so I can have a fun and convenient place to keep all of my wine notes.

The Most Wicked Of Them All

Just how wicked is she?  Just ask her faithful if somewhat reluctant servant, the frog.  He was once a charming Wine Prince but then he made the unforgivable mistake of running out of wine at his Halloween party and well, you can guess what happened next.  Perhaps some generous Wine Princess will take pity on him some day and save him with a kiss.

Whine Wednesday


One of the perks of being a Wicked Wine Vixen is that I don't have to be perky or cheerful all the time. Other Wine Women aren't so lucky. It really must be a drag not to be me and be expected to always be polite and keep a positive attitude and turn your frown upside down and all that. That is why I invented Whine Wednesday.

On Whine Wednesday, the girls and I get together, have a few glasses of wine and complain about everything. We don't preface our complaints with any sort of disclaimer, we don't apologize for being bitchy, we just let it out and feel a whole lot better afterward (the wine helps with that, too). I think of it as a wonderfully wicked form of group therapy.

So feel free to make your Wine Wednesday a Whine Wednesday too. Just remember, I'm a professional Wine Vixen, everyone else should indulge their inner wickedness in moderation only. ;)

Too Fabulous To Be Perfect

It's not always easy to be a Wine Diva.  Yes, It's true I am fabulous but that doesn't mean I'm perfect.  I have actually been known to make mistakes or lose my cool and I can be a tad bit too stubborn for my own good sometimes.   What makes me fabulous is that, to spite all of that, I keep trying and learning and I never give up on myself or my dreams.
So last Friday when I failed in my attempt to make those fancy appetizers I saw on pinterest, did I cry and scream and rant and rave?  Well, of course I did.  But then I got over it, stuck some toothpicks in some tater tots, opened a few bottles of great wine and had the most fabulous dinner party ever because I am the Wine Diva and that is what I do.

Wine Frogs and Wine Princes

You don't have to know a lot about wine to be a Wine Prince. In fact I have met some real frogs at wine tastings. You know the type, snobby, pretentious show offs who for some reason think they sound wise when all they really do is criticize. When a guy like that talks to me all I hear is “ribbit”.
 
Of course, I have met some great guys who are knowledgeable about wine and whose genuine enthusiasm to share their knowledge and experience is actually very attractive. Add a nice smile and a sense of humor to that and you've got a Wine Prince.
 
Then there is the guy I'm seeing now. On our first date he took me to a lovely restaurant, handed me the wine list and said, “You're The Wine Princess, you should choose the wine.” Wow, what a prince!
 
So you see, the real trick to being a truly charming Wine Prince, or any kind of prince for that matter, is to treat every woman you meet like the princess that she is.
